The biggest problem with Rep. Ben Chandler's school spending bill has been it's requirement that
union wages be paid on building projects in states which, unlike Kentucky, have learned a lesson on government waste and stopped requiring prevailing (union) wages on such projects.
Chandler made matters worse yesterday with his over-the-top anti-war rhetoric when he
said:
"We are spending hundreds of billions of dollars in Iraq; surely we can invest less than $7 billion in the future of our children, and the future of our country."
