Grading The Kentucky Education Reform Act
Education bureaucrats take to the stage and the airwaves tomorrow to answer charges of exaggerating Kentucky's educational improvement under KERA.
Click here and here for the dueling reports at the heart of the controversy.

What will it take to get mainstream Kentucky to realize KERA is a disaster?
You talking it up wouldn't hurt.
Funny thing; Professors in the college of education at EKU have been saying this about KERA from the get go. It was apparent from the beginning that KERA was going to be a cash cow for certain learned individuals.
Also, everyone knew that there were no validity statistics done. Why didn't our legislators require the statistics?
The double talk and buzz words will be flying like shrapnel at a terrorist hideout in Iraq.
Bottom line - all of this is nuance. It doesn't matter. The real problem with education is that it has been subverted by leftists from an institution of teaching knowledge into an institution of indoctrination for the purposes of changing society.
Until people educate themselves about this and take back the schools from the liberals, globalists, humanists, and America haters, all of this is a waste of time.

Can't agree with you here, FREE. Standing outside throwing rocks is never going to be more effective than going inside and hitting them with their own boulder.

And the rightwing wonders why people think they're a bunch of kooks? We need to put you guys on TV.
10:36, sorry the discussion here isn't meeting up to your high standards of Daily KOS. We know they're highly academic over there.
"Standing outside throwing rocks is never going to be more effective than going inside and hitting them with their own boulder."
I AM talking about going inside, inside the classroom where the indoctrination is taking place. That is the real battleground.
So what if we change things such that the corruption regarding testing and inflating test scores is fixed.
If we are fixing a system that measures how well the kids are indoctrinated, big deal! So what!
When they speak of assessment, what they are speaking of is assessing the indoctrination, how well it is going.
It is the indoctrination that is the real problem. Fix that first, and these other things will fall into place over time because Americans will start being educated again instead of indoctrinated in a new worldview.
10:36 you are one of the indoctrinated ones. We don't expect you to have any idea what we are speaking of. Your silly little kook comment is a compliment coming from you.
The last thing I would desire is to be thought of as respectable, intelligent, knowledgable, informed, or any other good thing in your eyes or the eyes of the other indoctrinated ones who willingly drink the mainstream kool-aid of mind control.
Thank you very much.

Mission Accomplished.
FREE, as you already know 10:36 is nothing but a troll; their preferred blogsites specialize in vulgarity, and they want their sewage to spill over onto the right side of the blogosphere as well.
Re: your tactical difference with those who have a public profile such as KP, I checked out your links and suggest you simply bring forward specific items discussed in those articles for future comments (along with starting a blog of your own, which is a good idea for any concerned citizen to consider).
There's only so much time in the day, so KP has to pick his targets where he has maximal influence, as do we all.
Another way for folks to get involved is to run for school board.
The school board is a joke.
Yes, well aware of the trolls who have too much time on their hands and too little gray matter to understand an issue fully.
The only way to do the school board thing would be to take over a majority of the seats at one time and that just isn't going to happen as the panty wetting liberals now dominate the voting class in LEFTington.
I couldn't imagine someone having the time and patinece to try to get someting substantial done within that system. One could spend a lifetime on one single issue and get nowhere.
It's a mess.
While I understand the targeted and focused approach, I also understand the divide and conquer strategy. They have us divided on so many fronts we are not really effective on any of them.
I contend that ALL of our societal woes can be slowly and surely repaired through taking our schools back from the secular humanist liberals and returning our schools to teaching the truth of our history, Christian principles, and no more propaganda disguised as teaching.
We must restore teaching for knowledge as opposed to teaching for indoctrination.
As it is now, in 15 years, conservatives won't have a chance to get enough votes to do anything as more little liberal clones are sent into the society from the corrupt "education" system. It has been happening for generations now and we are just about at the break point of no return.
Remember, many parents and grandparents now are indoctrinated and therefore can't understand what has happened and is hapening.
The time is now gentlemen and ladies. Take back education or lose it all. Believe me, the left knows what it is doing.
