All hands on deck!

Every club, organization, and group of every kind in Kentucky's Sixth Congressional district should call Rep. Ben Chandler's offices Monday and invite him to come to your next meeting and explain his support for Cap and Tax.

This battle is far from over. The bill now goes to the Senate and it will be amended there. If it passes the Senate, it will have to go back through the House for agreement on the changes.

Invitations to Chandler should also be sent to local media via press release. If your Rotary Club, Kiwanis, Garden club, neighborhood association, bridge club, or whatever needs help calling out Rep. Chandler for this latest outrage, I'll be glad to assist you. My contact information is at the top of this page.

The key is that when Chandler refuses to show up or fails to respond, we do another press release and keep hounding him.

Rep. Chandler's Washington D.C. office number is (202) 225-4706 and his Lexington number is (859) 219-1366.

This is a great idea. Ben Chandler does not want to explain why he voted for Cap & Trade because he knows most of his constituents wanted him to vote against it. Geoff Davis is the congressman in the district just north of Chandler's district and he reported that 98% of the calls he was getting were against the Cap & Trade, and his constituents knew he was voting against it and were thus less motivated to call, whereas we had a bad feeling that Chandler would vote for Cap & Trade and we called like crazy. His staffer wouldn't tell me what percentage of the calls were against Cap & Trade, and she told me they were receiving "a lot of calls on both sides of the issue".

I call shenanigans!

The non-representatives have got to go!

When will the GOP honchos in Frankfort get off their duffs and go after Nancy Boy Ben? What are you paid for Robertson, doing Mitch's laundry?

Where are the GOP Leaders? They are out back with their fingers in the air trying to figure out which way they should vote.

No principled leadership what-so-ever.

NONE of you will vote in his primary. I do. In the general election, you folks could have put up that loon with the porn stache and you would have voted for him anyways. Why would he even bother to open his mail from you?

Richie Farmer should run for this seat. He may be the only R that can knock off Dopey.

I was thinking about it... 5:01, you wanna debate me? I'm pretty easily contactable. You can run me over figuratively if your position is right. I know you can't... but... I'm more than willing to give you a shot.

What about Yarmuth too? He sold out our state. The mid-west will be hit the hardest with this trumped up excuse for taxing middle america to death. Global warming my ass!

What the heck does this mean?

Folks! There is a web-site called something like watch ben spend. Think about this....he signed onto obama very early on, so it should come as not surprise how he is voting. He is a dunce...just like his grandfather....Happy....so forget him. If I did not need to relocate to the 4th district I would run against him come '10. There should be someone popular enough on any spectrum of conservatism to take him on. But be sure to get out and get that someone....and then run, run, run.......or maybe turn the machines back on

Motelbill,

That's exactly what we have to do. Vote him out, but I'd still like to see a tar and feather party!!

The damn Bill wasn't even finished yet. Left open to add other stuff later. How the hell can any person with any common sense vote for this. Sounds unconstitutional to me!!!

Tim,

It is unconstitutional, even if it were a finished bill. As are nearly 4,000 other federal "laws" that have been forced on us from both parties in Washington. The true fact of the matter is we've not had the checks and balances defined in our Constitution for nearly 100 years now. Everyone is more concerned about their "career" than they are about upholding the principles of our founding fathers.

If the 3 branches of our gov't aren't properly keeping each other in check, then it's damn well time the people start keeping them all in check!

And Sue's idea might be the oldest and best way to get their attention.
