Why not just break some windows?

Wednesday is minimum wage increase day in Kentucky. The economic illiterates at Kentucky Youth Advocates couldn't be more thrilled. So how, exactly, does the government forcibly taking money from some people and giving it to other people benefit the state's economy?

Obviously, it doesn't.

Falling for the broken window fallacy is great politics, but the math is not much different than that supporting Obamanomics.

Because the employers are free riders.

Look at this . . . the amount per job. $100,000 tax credit for each job?????

This insanity of buying jobs for a few years . . . no knowing the future . . . has go to stop.

To embellish an already extravagant incentives from the Feds is not right. At a time when the Governor is having trouble balancing the budget why then would the schools and other tax entities be by passed when the small towns need the tax revenue?

Is this right . . . . at this time . . .?

And was there ever a consideration for partnering with our FLASHIP Industrial Giant TOYOTA. The Japanese and the Chinese at this time have the advantage . . . why would Kentucky want to invest this kind of tax incentives and take away tax revenue.

Read this:

The Recovery Act includes $2.4 billion from the Department of Energy for the development of hybrid lithium-ion automotive batteries. A multi-company consortium, NAATBat, gets six states to compete for a 2,000-worker facility, and Kentucky “wins” in April with a package valued at $200 million, or $100,000 per job (before the DOE grant).

This is insane at this time. It matters little how many jobs it will produce if the incentive program, at a time of desperate additional revenue is needed, why turn around and GIVE AWAY THE KITCHEN SINK.

I just wanna say!

Are you giving me an "F" for linking to Wikipedia?

John, what "thing" does the employer ride free on?

The broken window parable nails the quote in the press release. No one is arguing minimum wage on this post, just economic literacy.

The F was meant for John b/c I didn't look at your link. Wiki is very suspect as a reference.
